Introducing Axibly: Free Accessibility Testing That Respects Your Privacy

We're launching Axibly today — a browser extension that makes accessibility testing simple, private, and free.

Why we built this

Accessibility matters. Over a billion people worldwide live with disabilities, and the web should work for all of them. But for many teams, accessibility testing feels like a choice between expensive enterprise tools, confusing technical reports, or intrusive solutions that want your data before you've even run a scan.

We wanted something different: a tool you can install and use immediately, without creating an account, without sending your data anywhere, and without hitting a paywall before you've seen the value.

What Axibly does

Axibly scans any webpage for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance issues and shows you exactly what needs fixing.

The free extension includes:

  • Unlimited scans on any site
  • WCAG 2.1 AA compliance testing
  • Detailed violation reports with specific guidance
  • Element highlighting so you can see exactly where issues are
  • Local scan history (your last 50 scans, stored in your browser)
  • CSV export for your records
  • No account required — ever
  • 100% private — your data never leaves your browser

That last point matters to us. You shouldn't have to trade your browsing data or client URLs to test for accessibility. Everything stays local.

Who it's for

Axibly is for anyone who wants to make their websites more accessible:

  • Developers checking their work before shipping
  • Designers validating that their designs translate to accessible code
  • QA teams adding accessibility to their testing workflow
  • Marketing teams auditing landing pages
  • Agency folks reviewing client sites
  • Anyone who cares about building a more inclusive web

You don't need to be an accessibility expert. The reports explain what's wrong, why it matters, and how to fix it.

What's coming next

This extension is the first step. We're building a more comprehensive platform that includes:

  • Cloud history and team collaboration — share reports, track progress across your team
  • PDF reports — professional documentation for stakeholders and compliance records
  • Automated monitoring — scheduled scans of your public URLs so you catch regressions before your users do
  • Priority support — for teams that need it

These will be part of Axibly Pro. The free extension will stay free, with no feature reductions.

Get started

The extension is available now. No signup, no credit card, no trial period. Just install it and scan.
